Eat Breakfast!
How are you supposed to have energy and a functioning mind if you are not feeding your body? Eating breakfast is one of the most important steps to losing weight and being healthy. Skipping breakfast causes hunger pains, binge eating and irritability. Even if all you eat is a piece of toast with peanut butter on it as you run out the door, the fuel you give your body in the morning will help you function better all day long.

Tip #3
Living Well ...
Small changes can go a long way in improving your health. Exercise doesn’t have to be an hour at the gym. Climb stairs rather than taking the elevator. Walk your dog; chase your kids; mow the lawn; opt for the parking space farther from the front door. Make it a daily challenge to find ways to move more.

Avoid that afternoon slump
Since hiding under our desks for a quick snooze isn't an option, we all need strategies for keeping our energy up during the work day.
Snacking between meals can keep your energy up and your weight down -- if you choose snacks that combine carbohydrates with protein for a pick-me-up that lasts. Try these: carrots and hummus, apple slices and peanut butter, or cheese on whole wheat crackers. Avoid snacks high in sugar as they will leave you feeling even more tired after a short spike in energy.

THANK YOU for the overwhelming response to the Wellness Questionnaire that was distributed a few months ago. We received over 200 surveys back and learned a lot about what you would like to see as a part of our Wellness Campaign. Keep your eyes open for upcoming events, meetings and information!
On to our first Wellness topic: Dealing with STRESS.
Stressed out?? Of course! But don’t let stress get the best of you. Stress can be linked to such physical conditions as heart disease, insomnia, and depression to name just a few.
Don’t get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that you forget to take care of your own needs. Nurturing yourself is a necessity, not a luxury.

- Set aside relaxation time. Include rest and relaxation in your daily schedule, even if it’s only a few minutes. Don’t allow other obligations to encroach. This is your time to take a break from all responsibilities and recharge your batteries.
- Connect with others. Spend time with positive people who enhance your life.
- Do something you enjoy every day. Make time for activities that bring you joy.
- Keep your sense of humor. The act of laughing helps your body fight stress. This includes the ability to laugh at yourself.
